Caught this episode again ON-Demand an think this show has some fire an the ability to be the biker competition series to watch. Now mind it, IMHO don't much care for the bagger trend as anything more than a passing fad. But I like that the show has some name recognition an the idear that the young guns are trying to take down the high man on the totem pole.
I watched it the other night. It's a "mine is bigger than yours" pissing contest among a bunch of builders in the Phoenix area trying to horn in on Yaffe's business while he whines about it.
It should be entertaining, but I won't take it too seriously.
I just watched it on my DVR. I like the challenge rules they discussed at the end... "Everyone starts with the same stock bike and the credited builder is the only one touching the bike, no hired talent allowed." In other words, unlimited money can't be thrown at the builds in order to "Buy" the win. Not sure if the show will stick to that challenge though.

I AGREE WITH Jake, it is just a pissing contest on tv series about bikers. But I looks a lot more interesting than the Hash Tag Bikers that was supposed to be live voting.
Yaffe was on one of the early "Biker Build-off" shows. After he saw the chopper industry dying down, he started "Bagger Nation". Being one of the pioneers of the custom "Bagger" industry, he profited greatly from his gamble to switch styles.

Have too see. Very excited to see what evolves. I guess tonight will be the chance to see if its one to watch.
This one is in some way very much ringing the same tune as the 4-way of the second build off between Junior, Senior, Jessie, and F' n loud. The pranks, the smack talk, the egos. It was fairly enjoyable, but seems like playing off of previous biker programs.

Did anyone see this bike in the last episode. The lighted panels is a product called "Luminor" It has some kind of electro-luminous coating that when a charge is sent though it that the panels lit up.
I'd love to see what Junior or Senior could do with this product....
Yeah, his guy cracked that paint on the opposite saddle bag rolling it off the dark stage after the unveil.
I am not a fan of the luminor coating, almost a way to change the appearance so it looks like a different bike. Dont like neon under cars either so probably why I was not that impressed. Personally, if you are a builder, you want people to see the detail in your work so you dont give them something else to look at. Wonder if Jaffe was making an attempt to make them look elsewhere.
Actually not really a fan of these baggers, but Jaffe has convinced the industry that choppers died in 2008, seems more like he helped kill it.

Most likely it will go the route of the color hange paint like on 90's High-end autos.
As far as the bagger movement. Many people are looking to the edges of the spectrum in order to say that each cycle of a fad that it's the newest baddest way to in the automotive field to "Keep up with the Jones or Johnzie's"
My confusion of the subject is: IF you are going to put the most weight an toys on a bike why not get a trike. That's what a bagger looks I my eyes in the style they are doing currently?!?
Thats funny, have a full trunk and still need a place for your purse.
My point was Jaffe seems to think he is responsible for killing the chopper. Its almost like he takes credit for knocking the Teutels off their throne. The pussy side of it for me is he moved across the country to do it.

I doubt any one person can say they "END" a trend. It may go stagnant for a while, but it all comes back in cycles every 15-20yrs.
Jaffe just seems to take credit for it, thats all.
yesterday was new indian parts with a nervous Shope and putting a turbine engine in a bike.
I guess the whole deal with these guys is not to inspire builders, but to sell them the cookie cutter parts to bolt on their creations.
What bothers most is the bagger process is much like making a clay mold an laying glass over the mold buck. What FABRICATION is that. Even Paulie or Senior doo more fab on a bike than these rejects from the Vocational School of bodywork.
I find the Kody McNew character quite annoying. Makes Jason Pohl seem tolerable. They must show the series play quite near Real time, since I was just on a Facebook page for his shop that mentions the jet bagger in the truck on the way to Sturgis.
