as long as they are not to well known, nobody is begging for facebook hits and the bikes are running road worthy machines this should get back to where it started in popularity when it was just two shops.
I would clearly prefer judges at an event, but in all honesty, I still expect some crew to end up with another show and start this cycle all over again, so they will use twitter to find someone popular to give a series to.

How you not going to get someone with some kind of fame when it comes to bike building. No possible way(unless they have staged characters) build bikes in a Reality show kind of way, that end up drag it down into ratings hell.
I still dont know the name of that austrailian dude in california that did those industrial bobbers from a build off. Didnt know indian larry, didnt know billy lane.
The majority of real outlaw chopper builders would never even think about entering a made for TV competition. Thats when the did it right with Program creator: Thom Beers, before Pilgrim just found a new york family to whore out.
See, that has been my point from the beginning. OCC was not accepted by the real rebel builders. Real chopper builders live in their shops, not the suburbs. This is what I think of when I hear buildoff. The last staged BS where discovery was providing a budget and then not even keeping the bikes is not what the die hards want to see.

I'd have to disagree, they were pretty much on the biker rags before the show. That's why Pilgrim came to the door of there shop. Paulies spider man bike for wyclef jean.
You know this one.. Helped start a empire that is what it is today. Launched Paul Jr's career an Paul Sr's ability to afford all the playtoys he has today.

I am not saying they were not on the biker rags, I am saying they were never liked or respected by the dirty shop chopper gods. The Taj Majal would have never been built without pilgrim or discovery, but it was built because sr had dreams of making bikes like harley davidson with production, not one off themes. What they are doing now they can do in that set for the tv show, another 10k to have all those machines, but could farm all that out as well. All you need is a program written by an industrial designer.

I don't ever expect OCC an PJD bikes to be respected by "REAL" Bikers. Iwouldn't know not a real biker, just a serious gearhead. One that like Senior that enjoys seriously fast cars (MOPARS) an a fairly good love of the Motorcycles. Neither Teutul could be considered a serious biker. But as far as expression of what in a motorcycle that IMHO I like in style is what Junior did on the show in the early years an what he still continues to do is design a pretty good looking bike.
Glad to see this show coming back. Will it be all new builders????
Would be interesting to see some of the older builders or some of their sons. How about a 3-way build off with Arlen, Cory, and Zach against each other, love to see more of Russell Mitchells stuff. Kendall Johnson bikes or Perewitz. Mike Brown from Amen was a interesting episode vs. Billy lane.

I think thats the plan. I think only fast and loud want to be in another one.
Love to see Paul Jr against any up an comers. How about like a IRON CHOP format where former winners are challenged by the young upstarts.
Not with this twit voting process. no thanks. How about you are allowed to use one outside vendor and they need to get credit for the build? Either paint, or engine or a fabricated part or wheel. Its bike build off not bike assembly. We should probably wait til next monday to see how this is gonna be done.

IZZY thxs for the hyperlink to the site with the critique of some of the posts about the processes pilgrim used to work over the series. Sounds like new program will be more scripted on voting an drama worse than a A/C episode or a FNL episode.
On the "American Chopper" facebook page today.....
"....To celebrate the premiere of Biker Live, Paul Jr. Designs will be doing a Facebook Q&A Monday at noon answering your questions and talking about the pressure involved in being in a biker build off. Get your questions ready!......"
Poor guy is looking for any way he can to get his name relevant again by taking as much advantage of social media as possible.

It was a busy nite of Tv, 24, Blacklist Finale, switched around on commercials and saw after the first 15 minutes they were already taking twitter votes for the winner. They had not even shown the bikes yet. Isnt that pure eye candy of the musclebound builders? I like these guys because they are working out of their attached suburban garage? Maybe its not fair, fell asleep when it started back at 11, just saw bikes with tarps on them.

I watched the re-air. It was better than nothing, but -- Meh. It would have been better with just two shops instead of three. With this format, you don't see the build, you don't see the details of the bikes, and you don't get a real sense of the builders or shops. The voting process excludes anyone who isn't on Twitter (I'm not).
In the end, I would have voted for the bike that won because of the details. But if I was choosing a rider, I would have gone with the blue and white one. Cafe style just isn't my thing.
It's the typical "reality" offering we get nowadays, where the drama is more important than the content.
I went to look for who won, and discovery.com is airing a paul jr youtube commenting on who won. **** him already. I still cant find who won, was it the jesse james style high fork bike?

That little snarky clip that he "popped" in there. I don't know.... I'm divided on that one.
On one side him hitting back when the back an forth of Paul Vs. Paul has been kept out of public for nearly 2+ years now. To add it in in the first recent public airing in Public. NOT ON the coolest side
But, getting in the jab felt so pleasing to see a family that has it right on how the relationship should favor the progeny if one hopes to keep the family line of bike builders going(Like the NESS family). You know like teaching or keeping the skill learned in the family in hopes that he could take it beyond the level of the progenitor.
.40 cal won I believe. But OMG Harlot's bike was the bike IMHO would have said won. The team with the café racer was a bad pick to go against these shops. Should've found another shop with similar style. It was much like Senior Roach Couch in the first Build off. Or Jessie's in the Second. Poorly planned DSC or was it. Maybe it was preplanned for it be one or other or truly is already a "Fixed" contest.

Since there is a different producer doing this, I dont know why Jr thinks they want his opinion. If he did he would have asked him to be on the show. Let him walk past three bikes and show his expertise just based on the bikes, like a competition should be scored. But when voting starts after you see the people on the team and not the bikes its back to a popularity contest. At least have voting start at the end of the show, either announce it at a break an hour later or on the next weeks show. Its great they are giving other builders some spotlight, jr should let them have it. Others let him have it.

figured Senior's dawg don't hunt. It was a ratings flush around the white pool. Not saying that Junior could do any better, might do worse. Never know, but for some reason the gravy train of having his marketable mug being on programs of having a program to become another sensation. Even B+ listers get their 20 min of fame more than once or twice in their life.
The internet chopper show from what circle of petro-geeks like myself, an my friends- family are enjoying it. They keep mentioning that at the end are always craving more. That the short vids only add the interest to see what happens next week.
Anyone know when the finale of this series is going to run. Is it all the different regions winners going against each other, or is there semi final round to pare down the best three?
I have not heard, sounds like they could do best bagger, best sport bike, best old school the way its going. Would they still get 15k for parts or up it to 25k? Kinda think they are just looking for the most popular team and offer them a show, preferably a team that does it full time, not part time, not after work, not tired of building for customers, but a full shop to follow. There have been enough teams with a "buffoon" that does nothing but ease tension. Really think thats the only reason they are doing this.

season Finale last night. no ultimate winner, just three more teams doing three different types of bikes again. One looked like a mini bike with a 125 horse engine, a 30 inch rimmed beast with a half bag, all had some real nice features, staged drama and no real stand out builder.

Oh okay.. I thought it might be like Bbq pitmasters, or some of the other judging programs on the sister discovery channel programs that had regional competitors battle it out.
I am sure Jr will post something that gives his decision for the best builder of the year. It would make too much sense if they actually took the 5 or 6 winners and did something without a year to ponder over it.
