I any other members planning to see how the refurbishment of the F40 will progress. Tonight the new season of the Gas Mookies are starting back up.
Yeah, pretty damn disappointing to watch them watch Ferrari guys stretch and pull that thing for three days, then cut it apart to change all the metal that bent. Gas monkey style is to cut the **** out, set it up in the frame jig and weld it back together. Everything they pulled for three days was replaced anyway.
Then to add insult to injury, they let Aaron MIG weld the thing together? I would think after three days of stretching and pulling the least they would do is TIG weld the damned frame.
So far not enough gas monkey in this build other than the MIG welding on a 200 mph chassis. Sorry, but that is just wrong.

I am just hoping that for a Beautiful Italian Red Head like a F40. That the boys(An I use that term loosely) were talking out their monkeybutts saying they'd take a lady like her a shove her in fishnet stockings, stilettos an a leather dominatrix outfit. The look would make your but in the end it would never fit in anywhere excepts the small circle thatlike their cars looking like trashy, loose an lacking etiquette......Oh wait... Sorta like them...
They should just put this back in the auctions hands. Put a 950,000 reserve on it and let them trailer it around until it sells. But what gas monkey seems to be thinking is their customers will buy it, most probably Dennis to get Richard his money back, so their taste in color and rims seem to be driving them to buying those stockings.

I would like to think Dennis had more taste to take the car to level that would achieve One Mill+ payday, but I question with all of about anyone that would purchase it at a auction, would see a Non certified mechanic working on the next owners High Dollar pride an joy. I doubt that any kind of serious value has gone away, but I am sure somebody will make money on this one..

Pretty sure they are done and sold before the shows air. The 58 Vette was shown sold on ebay for 40,276.00.
They added drama to it that the guy flew in from california, but whether or not it was already a done deal is the question.
Anyway, I am pretty sure the sale was done, otherwise Richard would still be going bat **** on his facebook looking to get his money back, so there is no turning back from the buyer after the deal was made. I dont think it would be airing if it was not sold yet.

My cousin Ray, who owns the "auto body works" that's been in our family since the '20s, made almost exactly the same comment: "I can't believe they let someone near that frame with a MIG welder, WAY too much heat - it should have been TIG'ed or Heli-Arc'ed, and fan cooled to dissipate the most heat possible".
Strange how those new body panels arrived already painted, eh??
Aaron Kauffman: "we'll need to update this Ferrari to at least 750-800 HP", "I think it needs some Carbon Fiber work"...
Do they realize that most of the country thinks they are idiots???
Its not strange they came in painted, since all the cars are supposed to be red anyway and the "certified" shops want to keep the car all Ferrari, its replacing the panels that are already painted. Its how Collision shops work when they repair your car, paint the panel in a little booth and bolt it on, thats the difference between a body shop and a collision shop. They would prefer getting a panel the right color from a bone yard and just buff the car out. I would bet getting certified red ferrari paint shipped here would cost about 10-15 grand. Color matching here would probably not match.

I concur with the good Doc's diagnosis... At least that or Aaron been huffing to many automotive products. Anyone that would tramp-up a sexy Italian redhead has to have a screw loose..
Also if stock H.p. was enough for the poor girl to get her face bashed in by a unittended joy ride why on earth would you want to make it have massive amounts of power to cause traction loss.
See, I knew Dennis would end up buying the car. He will probably sell it for over a million pretty soon. As soon as I saw the 30,000 dollar wheels and tires, I knew they were bought for one particular customer.
Dont know how they ended up with 295,000 in parts and labor, but then ended up with 75k in profit off of that amount on top of the 100k, but we all knew it was gonna work out.
another thing on the red body panels, it makes even more sense to have gotten them painted with the Ferrari process, I didnt know they were all carbon fiber panels. I'm sure they were careful not to sand thru any of that paint when the scuffed it to paint it black.

Another way of saying like with American Chopper that O.C.C. made money on a bike build by a anominous client building a dubious looking bike just to keep the shop having builds to make episode coverage to keep the program going. Just gives more proof to the fact they should've never gotten rid of A.C. It was like replacing a certain Cola with a newer version of it to try to compete with another famous Cola stealing market share.
