Not sure what's happening with Mikey - he posted that due to a recent "tragedy" his gallery had been closed for 3 weeks. Also posted asking anyone with art in his gallery to arrange to pick it up by June 1st. Just wonder if he's closing the gallery. He did mention he had been in upstate NY filming recently (probably Woodstock where he filmed his first piece, "The Shining in the Park.")
I loved what his artistic take on the movie. I couldn't stop laughing. I would feel terrible if his artistic efforts came to pass. His work touched me in a spiritual way..
I had noticed that Jenny S*******, Mikey's assistant, has been absent from posting updates for quite some time. The Times Herald-Record hasn't listed anything new going on at the gallery for a few weeks now. I have spoken with Jenny a few times via email, however, would hesitate to inquire as to what has occurred. Let's all hope that whatever the cause, it is not of any severity.
Hammer, me thinks we'll have to do some more detective work..... During my December visit (for the grand opening of the OCC Cafe), most of Mikey's business focus was on T-shirts and miscellaneous chatchky. Quite possibly, the demise of the show lead to an untenable condition whereby the gallery's "art" offerings weren't enough to sustain the operational cost of the lease/utilities/payroll - (if there ever was any). This would be the third year (?) for the Wolfgang Gallery - I wonder if the lease is being allowed to terminate (gracefully)??
I wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall in Maryanne's Delicatessen (for a few days).....
I wondering if he's slipped an maybe back off any kind of mood stabilizing meds.... Maybe the failure of the art thing has started a downward slip in his success in his mental health..
If the photo at the top of this thread is current, I'd say that Mikey appears in generally good health - far from that which we witnessed nearly four years ago. That said, I'm with you in hoping that all is under control with regards to any emotional stability issues/substance abuse problems.
Yep... One nasty animal that I still have a hard time reading myself all these years is that rollercoaster ride of when you get a med that works for a while, then or if you slip or it stops working as effective as when you get a therapeutic dose that works.
My daughter was telling me that many physicians are switching patients whom have had difficulties with SSRI's over to Tramadol- SR (sustained release), because of the med's similarities to SSRI's in chemical composition, and because it seems to work in many cases when SSRI's do not.
