EVANSVILLE — The Evansville Police Dept. responded to an robbery at Fifth-Third Bank at 4550 North First Ave Saturday around 12 p.m.
EPD spokesman Jason Cullum said a male entered the bank, which was moments away from closing, and lingered in the lobby. He then approached a teller, handed her a note that implied he was carrying a weapon and then demanded money.
After taking an undisclosed amount he then fled on foot toward CVS and Stepto's Bar-B-Q Shack, according to witnesses standing in nearby parking lots.
Police described the suspect as a white male in a black hooded sweat shirt standing around 5’8” tall with a heavy set build and dark hair. Cullum said he has a resemblance to Michael Joseph "Mikey" Teutul from the television show “American Chopper.”
No injuries were reported and police were unsure if any civilians were inside the bank during the robbery.

From Mikey's blog: "Also, while we were in Indiana I got to read an article about a man who robbed a bank described as "Looking a great deal like Michael Joseph "Mikey" Teutul of American Chopper. I realized I have finally achieved some kind of stardom, and I look like a bank robber from Indiana as well."
