Porter with the Willis Brothers, circa 1963 (on Kinescope); "Bid Daddy's Alabama Bound":  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SSsJuZ01jM

With Jimmy Davis, and an early version of the Oak Ridge Boys, with one of the best renditions of "You are my Sunshine" (even if you dislike country music, you'll really enjoy this, PURE TALENT): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0HLEJCgGws

Again, featuring Jimmy Davis, and the Oak Ridge Boys, the spiritual "Summertime": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woc1IGYLbCQ

They still air episodes of Porter Wagoner on the RFD channel. It's like they hired the town drunk to do the programming, though. Ostensibly they rerun the same episode at different times on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but it's like you have three chances to catch it, and usually it's something else on. (Lots of hours-long cattle auctions, I'm not kidding one bit. Heybiddabiddayo foteefivefittyfivebiddabidda... for five f***** hours...) I only watch for young Dolly, though.

When I was a kid in Texas, the local channel ran a block of country shows on Saturday night; Ernest Tubb, Porter Wagoner, The Wilburn Bros. and The Grand ol' Opry. Porter Wagoner was the worst, by far. I couldn't stand him. (We had a family friend who was a commercial pilot. He brought back a pachinko game from Tokyo, and I finally understood the "look" Porter was going for.)

But I adored Dolly. We didn't have mute buttons or fast-forward then, so you just had to put up with his off-key caterwauling until Dolly and the twins showed up.

My dad's favorite was Ernest Tubb...

..except the old man always went berserk when this weird guy showed up with his hair plastered down in a Pentecostal-style hairsprayed pompadour, wearing a turtleneck and bell-bottoms, perched on a stool to croon in an annoying nasal whine that turned your neck into crepe paper.

His name was Willie Nelson.

Okay, this is going to sound totally uncultured, uncouth, and, for lack of a better term, unsophisticated, but I actually preferred a late '20s version of "Pretty Miss Norma Jean" to the more vivacious Dolly, and her enormous talents. (sorry, the Devil made me do it)

...as to "RFD-TV, THE NETWORK", I abandoned them after Pat Gottsch, the owner, screwed over "Big Joe Siedlik", of Big Joe Polka Show (entire 1 hour show) fame back in 2009/2010.
