Renegade might not be that far off: http://tv.yahoo.co........201500284.html

There's apparently been some conjecture that Mike Rowe may not be narrating Deadliest Catch, or participating in other "Discovery" ventures; per Yahoo:

"It's unclear if Rowe will continue with his other Discovery Channel ventures -- "How Booze Built America," which aired this fall, and narrating "Deadliest Catch," which is currently filming for an April 2013 premiere."

Yet Discovery Networks is going to air garbage like "Amish Mafia" (I live in Lancaster County; and trust me, there is an enforcement section amongst the Amish population here, but they don't carry AR-15's, shoot-out windshields, or take their disagreements outside of the Amish/Mennonite "brethren"). Most conflicts occur when tithing does not take place, or an Amish farm's roadside stand does not receive the proper permissions from within their community.

Maybe Honey-boo-boo will paint the Mackinaw Bridge, help restart a sewage transfer pump, make scrapple in Delaware, or match wits with the 13 y/o son of a cow hoof groomer???

It seems the best program offerings put forth by Disco are on Velocity...

**It sounds as if Mike learned the news of the shows demise prior to his opening for Mitt Romney in Bedford Heights, Ohio, during a mid-October campaign rally. He probably figured "what the hell, I might as well go for broke" even though he did not endorse Romney.

I doubt that...  They have the Sci Channel, but on there you don't see Oddities, Meteorite Men, Green channel is now Dest or Discovery America, that runs basically what used to be some of the programs on Disc, to my perseptions, they are deluding(neuturing) there key brands into smaller less than stellar brands.  TLC used to be good channel now it's the equalivent of WE, Lifetime, or OWN.   With so much pink tones that I swear are more feminem than BRAVO.   Velocity if you can get it... Mine don't for basic cable, now I'm locked out of any of the automotive, or vehicular related programming..

I guess it's sad that a once shining Chrome plated Star is now laying in a dung-heap of tarished mediocracy.   I hate to say it, but when I am watching MSNBC an enjoying it, it is a sad state for my afternoon resting after my treatments.

no

Fewer and fewer reasons to tune in to Discovery for sure.

Looks like we won't be seeing PJD set up shop with a new show in the Napa Valley building they mentioned a while back

From The Napa Valley Patch
Editor Louisa Hufstader -
Offline, I've been hearing some interesting comments. One man emailed me in anger that the motorcycle shop did not win the right to buy, while a local businesswoman expressed relief, saying the "American Chopper" proprietor is known to be a bad businessman and would likely fail at the site. (And according to the newspaper, he dropped out as a bidder at the last minute, which seems to indicate some instability.)

The reality enterianment network is flushing itself down a sesspit that I don't even think Mike Rowe would crawl in it to fish it out...

Apparently, Dirty Jobs has a market on NetFlix (see the attached screen grab from Wertz Candies in Lebanon, PA).

Wertz Candies is where matched wits with an older PA Dutch woman, made "chocolate dog pooh", and a chocolate "Dirty Jobs" work boot:

http://www.wertzcandy.com/  The regional special is something called "Opera Fudge", which is a butter cream filled chocolate candy. I believe they invented it....

The cancellations, the disappearance of the old boards down the rabbit hole,......Discovery is obviously doing some type of restructuring.  Honestly, the only thing that has me holding on to my cable subscription is "The Deadliest Catch" and some of the science specials such as "History of the Earth".  Just a bit more of this tweeking and I will finally be in a position to tell Comcast to stick it where the sun don't shine.

I had many veteran fans an many of people that I discuss AC with disgusted the OCC let Ole Glory fall into that wet putrid ground in OCC parking Lot, just for a stupid prank.  Is that how we treat our nations flag????  After most of the show was about lending a hand an serving the community, the OCC were outside playing school yard antics of a caliber that revolted me..

After watching the 27 November offering, I'd bet money that Craig Piligian begged Discovery to cancel American Chopper because watching the "dailies"  began making him sick. Last night's program was again difficult to watch, to say the least.

The cancellation of Dirty Jobs still makes absolutely no sense...

Yep the Jr prank was funny but that was disturbing and someone who has supposably served his country should know better, heck they all should know better, no respect.

According to this, the results are somewhat mixed, and the show hasn't "jumped the shark"....
