Pilgian doesn't decide what shows Discovery puts on. Are you really that thick? Pilgian just produces the show. So keep trying.

Obviously. But, apparently he had influence to the show being cancelled before the build off which is funny yet sad for fans.

Speaking of being that thick, do you think Discovery would let a cash cow like Pilgian walk away to another network because discovery chose the arrogant jr over him? I bet alot of networks would love to get Pilgian on their side. He has given them numerous series, not shows. If Discovery burnt that bridge they will lose alot more revenue than well off white boys that think they are part of the chopper world.

Man, I wish he had went with chrome for the spokes. I know he was influenced by the red spokes on 1930's Fords and Duesenbergs (I believe the grill motif was inspired by a '39 Ford, right?) but it just doesn't look right. Maybe I should say simply that chrome would have looked better, anyway (but he didn't axe me).

Speaking of being that thick, do you think Craig Piligian / Pilgrim Films & Television would let a single network like Discovery determine their every move. Of course not. Thats why many of the shows from Piligian / Pilgrim are or have been on non Discovery channels. Listed below are just some non Discovery Piligian efforts. Many of their popular shows are or have been on Discovery but their is no exclusive deal. And vice versa if Craig Piligian / Pilgrim Films & Television fell of the face of the earth tomorrow, with the dozens of production firms scrabbling for a break someone would be there to fill the void quickly. I have no doubt with so many shows in play at once, dealing with as you put it "arrogant well off white boys" is par for the course. Celebrity egos go hand in hand with fame and I'm fairly certain he is able to handle his issues with Jr without going into a Sr rage fit and vowing to destroy him. If that was his style he would find himself lacking screen talent in short order. Your many posts seem so clouded by your dislike of Jr it's to the point of not being able to focus on the facts. I openly admit my posts are from the perspective of a Jr fan but I still try and keep a dose of "reality" in mind when making such bold proclamations.

So Discovery cut the show because Jr doesn't get on with Pilgrim? Really, so the lose in revenue due to Sr's bad imagine had nothing to do with it?

After watching a few of Discovery's shows I'd say that they (Discovery) didn't win anything! Both Discovery and their sister company TLC seem to want freak shows. I hope Jr does either produce his own show or get another person to produce it and then go to another channel; hopefully not the old regular channels though. What happened to the guy at Discovery who championed OCC? And why do you have a build off and then keep the runner up and the losers and close down the show of the winner? That sounds like a very volatile and unstable mind running things.

People keep saying they want to have somebody go to other shops around the country to see what they are doing. That won't work. Even though everybody seems to use Biker Build Off as the way to go to have biker contests; and there are other reasons why that doesn't work, but most people I know and have read get caught up with the characters...the people. They watch the show because they like the people or a person and that is why they come back every week to watch the show. That's the type of show you want to have on TV.

You talk about Jr having a fight with the producer because that's what the producer said. The film crew call those guys that have all the skills "the talent." It is a very demeaning term because they could be a herd of cattle instead of very talented individuals. The film crew and the production staff are not the ones people turn on their TV to watch, they want to see these guys make great bikes, or a great episode of a comedy, drama or whatever.... If I was Jr and I had a studio and could hire the staff to film his TV show, I'd go for it. I'm all for it. The very first time I heard or read where either the production staff or the film crew called the guys the talent it disgusted me.

Sherry, I can understand your aversion to the term "talent"; however, that is not a term that the crew made up. (I spent 15 years working the local end of the industry as crew) It has been used in the industry since the beginning to refer to anyone who appears on camera (earlier it referred to those who stepped up to the mike on radio).

It in no way refers to the level of "talent" the person may, or may not have. Nor is it intended to be derogatory (although there is often an 'us and them' attitude on many jobs).

Jake says: It in no way refers to the level of "talent" the person may, or may not have. Nor is it intended to be derogatory (although there is often an 'us and them' attitude on many jobs).

I kinda figured it was "industry slang." But just recently it was the first time I heard someone use that term; and I think it is like "smoking" it's a good idea to not do that in front of the camera. It absolutely gives an idea of "us and them" that wouldn't be something that goes in more formal programming. I wonder if the camera crew guy thought of himself as the "talent" when he spoke in front of the camera....

And my aversion comes from the use of the term and not how good the talent is at their job. As a show based on reality those guys are skilled craftmen and shouldn't be demeaned by name calling. I do thank you for filling me in on the word being an industry term and the guy probably didn't think once about saying it. I retired 10 years ago from a job where what we said meant a whole lot and old habits die hard.

I can't remember if smoking came up in this section but I have been reading about smoking a lot today so I'll just say it depends where you live and probably where you work. AC did try and give a good example for kids and it has been mentioned on the show; one time Jr had to caution his dad about his language because kids were near them. I don't think it's a bad thing to try and make a good impression; quite the opposite. My parents taught my brother and I how to act; and yes think about how we might appear to other people. If Jr smokes and does it out of sight then I say good for him. I used to think it was bad about making laws to keep people from smoking; that was until we were traveling and stopped in a cafe in New Mexico or Arizona. At the time we had non-smoking sections in restraunts and cafes in California. I almost couldn't eat my meal it stunk so bad from the cigarette smoke! However, I'd rather people be taught to think about what they are putting in the air for others to breathe and not have the goverment in our business.
