Toad was the one that dropped the ball on that claim. You can't blame that on Fred. Fred made a business decision. If Fred had not bought that claim,. someone else would have.
Because Parker took the time to help Fred, plus the cost of running his machines to help. And what did Fred do when Parker needed help? Tried to rip the kid off. And now that Parker needed cash to cover costs so he took the bridge job Fred and his son want to carry on. All I can say is sucked in.

I think that was twice he stuck Fred. I think it was the beginning of season 2 after Fred bought Todd's claim, Todd sold Parker the wash plant for pennies on the dollar because he didn't want Fred to get it. Then Fred asked Parker how much for the machine and he sold it to Fred for almost twice what he paid for it.
