Honestly... My heart an love would be Windows 98... Win 98 still had love for those DOS classic games, system ran fast games ran great easy to install, no insane verification if you upgraded or changed any on system. XP was next for love of the O.S. when it came to the point when games came to love for big drives watching DVD's, music videos graphic intense programs an still only gobble up a couple of gig on your drive for the O.S.
But now I really enjoy Seven. I will stay with seven.
I might try 10 out on the other laptop I put back together from buying a good parts bare-bone shell with a bad mobo, no HDD or ram. Or Compaq that purchased an fixed broken LCD. Just to try to see if I can become comfortable with it.. Otherwise Seven is where I stay till forced to submit to Mircosoft's desire for us to bow to their will.

I needed a new laptop over a year ago. I could not get a new one in the stores that did not have Windows 8 on it. I did not want Windows 8.
I ended up getting a used laptop on Ebay with Windows 7. It is working well. I usually upgrade all computers every 2 years. Desk top and laptop. Business expense for me also.
Pretty quiet on this forum. This is a good idea to try and get others on here.
About a year ago... I bought a shell of a ACER 5250 with a bad motherboard for parts to replace worn parts of my daily laptop I use. Slowly over the past six months. I found a hard drive for 35.00 a 4gb ram stick $30.00 and a 26.00 replacement board an built a new laptop. I couldn't believe I'd accomplish putting a laptop together.
