Has anybody caught this project by the braintrust at Discovery is putting on air.  Man eaten alive by reptile.  Who in their mind decides this is a cool idea for a show.  What part of learning or Discovery which was the original concept of the channels has fallen to the point of Ooooooooh!!! Shiny Object!!.  Lets see if this will sell ad time an make good ratings.

the previews I saw he is getting in a complete scuba suit. I guess he is not planning to lose the oxygen cannister.

I just wonder if he is getting shat out or if they are gonna cut the snake open to get him out.

I don't quite understand that one either, A.I.  But from what the blowback I've followed on T.V. and the Interweb around the pages an channels I follow.  It's doing about to rouse about every activist group(Which is what it seems programs today like to do) is up in arms.  I don't see the artistic or ethic value of seeing the event.  Besides lately.  Other than to watch Mondays I don't find any entertainment value in the channel.  With No Choppers, or Auction Kings, Mythbusters or even a decent one of the other automotive related program any other day.  I tune it out.  I am sad at that because for most of the years since its inception it was one of the best for content on T.V.

I spend more time on Destination America watching them chase monsters. The guide on dish is not right too often with discovery either.

This guy was getting eaten alive on twitter. Our local internet guy had him on around 7am this morning. Should have podcasts on later, or he is on itunes, Jonathan Brandmeier.

He was really good to the guy, said the hour and a half leading up to the stunt was amazing footage. I guess they jumped on a snake in the dark that was 27 feet that he felt would have worked. The one they used was actually the backup snake that is in a conservatory type place.

Keys to his interview.

He was only gonna go in up to the shoulders so they would not hurt the snake getting him out.

He said the snake would have immediately started regurgitating right when other people got around as a defense mechanism. It is easy to kill the snake in that position, so she would leave the kill and run.

He felt the 27 foot wild snake could have eaten him and three more people like him for breakfast.

He said discovery cut and edited the scientists questioned and actually cut one statement to say the anaconda would attack from a tree. He said after they get so heavy they cannot climb anymore and spend all their time in the water or on the ground.

Pretty much said he wanted to have more of a conservation message and teach about the amazon, but discovery pushed for the stunt. If he didnt agree to the stunt there was no show.

Pretty good listen, I will post a link to that interview when it comes around. They are a little behind updating the site.
