Has anyone seen the show called "Car Hoards"????? I caught it at the end last nite (Monday). Seems the premise is that these 2 guys help people get rid of their hoards of cars. In the episode that I saw, the people had a backyard full of Corvairs. The two guys got rid of all the cars and parts and restored for the owners a Corvair van and a Corvair convertible.
I am not sure how both parties got paid for what went on. Possibly the 2 mechanic guys sold or scrapped everything in the backyard and in return the family got the van and convertible restored.
I was trying to watch, but am stuck in the Blacklist. Yeah, they clean up the yards, they cut and sell whatever parts are good on the crap they took out and use that money on restoring one of the cars. They were trying to get all that stuff for the corvair van only when I switched, I guess he talked them into restoring two cars.
I guess it was a cross between Barter Kings and Fast and Loud. Probably the only show that clearly tries to get around all the sales and tax stuff. I think that yard of Corvairs was worth alot to a corvair collector, I doubt they scrapped much.

My family had a Corvair car when I was growing up. It was not a good car. The passenger side floorboard was rusted out so if you hit a puddle you would get splashed with water.
The Corvair van looked nice when restored. I would rather have a "Mystery Machine". (Scooby Doo)

True, but people that even remember the corvair are getting older an older an fewer an fewer. The car stylist was pretty much right with his take on the cars . But Iguess you might find enough nostalgic buyers for the ugly sister of the Camaro.

well, you find if the kind of people collecting them are just letting them rust away in a yard it must be the reason there are fewer and fewer. Second episode was much better, probably let this thread die and comment in the other?
