In one of those Q&A's, did Paulie say that he could not have won those build offs without the fan vote?
Should there have been a panel of certified custom bike judges deciding the winner like many have complained about?

 It's possible but, even in the original build off series. It was a vote mostly by popular vote.  Just that the vote was more based on the actual quality an style of the build.  The main flaw in both build off series was that the style of bike wasn't defined like the build off series matched closely similar build styles.  When you have one builder building a bike for show to win his loyal fan viewers, an one building the best engineered and fabricated bike, and one building the best work done by cad and computer generated cnc fabrication, and the last build-off you had Gas Monkey team build the most original more DIY garage style restoration that got the respect of the backyard bikers. 

No possible way you can not with being a national online vote on tv that you most likely can't have it go anywhere other than a fan vote.

 I don't know even in the caddy bike vote it went more for either side based on the style designers that built the car.

 

Or even how can you build a panel that would be un-biased in some way to a particular style.

I feel you need the Senior v Junior dynamic to really make the show. The conflict drew in as many people as the builds themselves.
