Does anyone feel that Evan is the added character needed to take on the role as a alternative to Paulie. I find that in many ways he resemble the same issues that Senior was fighting against without so much added drama of the family-son arrangement. Will he take the deflection away from Jason an his Computer designed bikes, that failed to come to the quality of the bikes that Junior was able to add the touches to make then ICONIC bikes.
I sorry to say, Christian isn't a leader. I don't think he ever has the desire to lead, but is certainly a back seat driver. He is very good at his job, an is the best to do the build-up of a bike, an if he truly had the level of design personality like a Paulie, Jason, or Evan, he would've showed it in the 13 or so years he has been working for OCC. Rick can do it himself as doing a project for himself, but have you ever seen him lead a build or design at OCC.
I might get so back-flak for this opinion, but I this is from my perspective, so I am willing to be critiqued on it.
I just think part of the Evan hire was so sr would not yell at rick or christian because they are keys. that gaf bike was tired, boring, sr "donating" parts that the company bought for yet another one of his builds. 2 1/2 week deadline for a sturgis build and reveal, answer should be no. Dont know how Ron felt leading the build then being removed.
The pinstriping was sick on that tank though. maybe if was because it was under an 1/8th inch of clear, but definitely eye catching.

The did make the tank look very sick... His team an painter made that bike from being like the AC final corporate build for GAF to a fairly good looking bike, but Senior fascination with that style of seat on a good looking chop killed the smooth lines of the whole bike.
I realize Senior needs to budget the purse strings to keep the "EMPIRE" afloat. An I can see EVAN isn't going to last long in this arrangement of pinching pennies when it's hurts the bottom line in the public eye. Other than the tank it would've been another mono-tone corporate build.
I just think sr showed some compassion with the build. He knew it was going to a wounded warrior, so not knowing what body part they were missing or how much pain their daily life held, at least showed he showed some heart in a big comfy seat and soft tail. So I give that wrong seat choice as far as design alot of credit for choosing comfort over looks in that case.

It may take me a little more time to get used to the atmosphere of this show. It used to look like a shop; now it looks like the shows we watched where the winner of the bike was revealed. You almost expect balloons popping out of equipment. I think Evan is the scapegoat to take the heat off of Jason and show that Sr can be compassionate. Too bad he couldn't do the same thing for his son!
all senior is doing is not firing evan so far and actually yelling at him in the office not in the shop, but he threatens to fire him every episode so far. The cancer is announced next week so we will see which way this changes.

After re-reading my post it may sound like I don't like Jason. I actually feel empathy toward the Jason because of the position he was put in on this TV show. And I don't take the time to make that position clear when some things I say might sound like I don't like him.
But the fact is he can design but he doesn't have the artistic ability that Jr has and that is something you can't develop. You are pretty much born with it. I think that all the rest of the animosity between Jr and Jason; and some of the antics that he got away with, were scripted. You will note that Jason went to Jr's wedding.
One question! Has anybody ever worked closely with someone with ADD? I have and it is really hard even when you are friends with that person. It might be that both Jr and Jason are afflicted with that problem!
Senior is more compassionate to others an that is a normal trait of a person with the kind of that kind of mental sickness. But when it comes to family or his sons he is hypercritical of every move or action that doesn't satisfy his need or greed for control or power.

Its a fathers expectations. For christs sake, you are my son, you want to get treated differently than the employees, get all the prestige, all the fame, act professionally. How many times did you hear, wow, I thought paul jr was only in his 20's, because he was acting like a kid that needed to grow up. At the end it was, holy ****, jr is 37 years old? Those were kindergarten pout fests. Their relationship was bad to begin with, but those cameras ruined it.
You cant look at any of that as a semi normal either a father or a son and just say, man, we looked stupid. There are more of the sons on the internet, so of course the sons backed jr. You grow old, your kids grow old and all you can hope is that they find ways to turn into men when they want to be respected like men and not act like kids.

I think they both need to sit together an look at the footage an admit to each other or Senior to admit to his sons that the whole mess was nothing more than him trying to exert his control over everything the sons did that didn't comply to the path he wanted is delusional reality wanted.
First he still or at that time never would've given control of the reigns of the Ironworks or the Keys to OCC over to any of the sons.....EVER Sure he said that it was his desire, but you could see even back in his efforts to manipulate the sale of the Ironworks to Daniel, an look where that got him 6-8 years without even his oldest son wanting anything to do with him or his children. The way he held the bike that Cody an him until legal recourse made him pry it from his withering hands his misdealing an manipulation the finance of Junior supposed 20% until Junior had to legally pry it from Seniors controlling hands.
Now I do believe it is time for them to make up, move on. Try to get back to building bikes together an each become a little wiser after making asses of themselves

well, I dont know about the manipulation of the finances. Junior was never involved in that side of the business. the most I saw was when he was allowed to bid 150k for a bike they built that was supposed to be auctioned off to the public. I doubt either sr or jr knew the actual dollars they were making, just that the got enough for themselves.
As far as prying it away, pretty sure jr walked out and quit. Can you go back to your job and ask for money after you quit and walked out? Sr still had dreams, and his sons were part of them. Get a nice FU for the effort from both sides.
I dont rule out jr coming back to occ now that evan is slapped down to just a fabricator. I just expect some type of legal agreement like a pre nup BEFORE it explodes again is necessary. Thats the only way the see if they learned from their mistakes.

So you think or hope there is a possibility that they can stop trying to bury the hatchet into each other or between them, or do you think now that Paulie is secure that he got his blood money from the 20% that Senior tried to get offer him to continuing to working on the show and his father.
