I do try to catch Duck Dynasty. Certainly do not think you will learn much about duck calls, but it is funny. And I do think it to be a family friendly show, which is usually not the case now days. And it is quite something to see the family at the table and praying. Which I think is a fine thing.

I'm going to re-hash this thread in order to try to see if anyone else wants do discuss the current situation of the show.
I do find it troubling that the head of the household allowed himself to be exposed voicing his sensitively charged views in a op-ed in a major magazine that got stirred up by the mainstream MEDIA.
But, however IMHO. Ol'Phil is a wiley one. He could see that the show was affecting the family in a way with the fame that was growing around the show. An at one time he believed the show would be his vehicle to teach religion and his views to the unwashed masses of us city folk. BUT, however he was seeing that the fame and the efforts of A&E to try curb his message coming from the show about Faith, Family, Firearms, and Food.
I think that was sort of my thinking too MoKcar. Seems certain people wanted to force Phil into their way of thinking. They should have just agreed to disagree.
Actually, I am a little sick of Phil's "fine Christian" spiel, and he was an absolute tool when he was implying that blacks did not complain in front of him during the Jim Crow segregation era. Like he didn't understand that as a white man in the deep South during segregation he still had a higher social position than a black man doing the same job.
Other than that, their brand is getting way over exposed in the marketplace. There doesn't seem to be any cheap crap they won't put their logo to in order to make a buck. Nothing against making money, put I really hate money making with a coat of religious gloss on top.
I certainly do not think anyone should use Christianity as a shield to say whatever they want. Part of being a Christian is realizing that no one is perfect.
Duck Dynasty is over exposing themselves just like Orange County Choppers did. But I do think that Duck Commander has a firmer business base than OCC ever had.
IMHO anyone the Spiel's of Spews the much about his overt "Christian" values an delusions about how things were perfect an so much more social freedom is a sentimentalist is generally a person was a hypocrite an lived a lifestyle much like the one he rails about.
