After more than two years on Railroad Avenue in Montgomery, Mikey Teutul's Wolfgang Gallery has closed.
The gallery, which opened in November 2010, showed both Teutul's original paintings and work from artists both local and national.
"Throughout the last three years we have been happy to showcase over 100 local artists, however, even with high attendance at our openings, the economy did not allow for enough sales to make it realistic for me to keep open the doors," said Jenny Stafford, manager and gallery director. "We met some great people and will miss everyone very much."
Teutul began painting around 2009 before entering a rehabilitation program to help curb his hard-partying lifestyle. His early artwork of members of the cast of "American Chopper" - the show about his family's custom motorcycle business - sold well, leading him to opening a gallery in Montgomery.
"As I'm getting older, I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my life," Teutul said at the gallery opening.
Teutul had also been showing his art - which had been described as of the style of Jackson Pollock - at local galleries such as the VARGA Gallery in Woodstock.
