Does anyone remember the "radio news sounders" just after the top of every hour?; CBS, and Mutual Radio News had the best, followed by ABC Information Services. NBC was a distant third.  Here's an example of a closed circuit communication sent in early 1973, just prior to the close of the war in Vietnam:
