We haven't seen Robb for a while now. The builds this season were painted by Ralph. Who, this week said that he was the only painter at OCC. Robb painted the horsey bike, and a few others late last season. but when did he leave?
I think that Robb was the closest to Nub that Sr had since Justin, but he never really used him well. I wasn't crazy about the paint on the Horse Bike, but I doubt if Robb had much room for creativity or artistry on that one. Or any of the bikes he did, for that reason.

I wish they'd built the bike he designed. It was beter then what Jason puts out.
Wonder how much money OCC owes him?

Your just not a bike shop till you start selling Xmas supplies and party decorations.
It wasn't necessarily short deadlines that caused Nub to leave OCC. It was the volume of show bikes and production bikes on short deadlines, and the fact that Sr wanted him to move up to the new HQ and be the in-house painter, under Sr's terms, without a thought to any of Nubs other customers or personal projects.
It's like Home Depot telling Dewalt that they will only carry their products if they agree to a set fee dictated by Home Depot. In this case, Dewalt said yes, but compromised the quality by using cheaper materials. Nubs chose to walk away.
I think Nub knew Senior would have him painting whatever Jason put on the drawrings and you can not treat an artist like that. I wish I could think of another example of this
Don't forget, the girl went behind Justin's back to work for Sr. When OCC let her go, she tried to go back to Justin's shop and beg for her job back and he sent her packing. Last I looked, she was in California selling her art.
I took a minute to google. Justin's post was copied onto another site, cut/paste, here it is ......
He posted this on the Discovery forums:
hey everyone. justin barnes from JB Grafix here. a few friends told me that they were still talking about us on here. its been a while now.never told everyone what went down, a lot of people ask what happened. basically you can only eat sh_t for so long before it taste bad. it was an opportunity of a lifetime for myself to have that many people see our work and i tried to do the best i could with the time we had to work on each one. we often had to deal with them wanting us to lower our bills on bikes , saying the exposure is worth more, correct but, cant pay the bills on exposure, that was a ongoing thing, we dealt with it. could write for days about what we dealt with.but about the time we started the david mann bike things were way bad, my mother was in the hospital for a few weeks now,we found out about a month later that she had cancer, which she is still fighting to this day and is the strongest person i know. so my head wasn't really into bending over backwords for anyone but i got all my work done regardless. latecia was more worried about being on tv than anything, she stopped coming into work and actually had her brother call me to tell me she was in the hospital when she was really up at occ trying to paint for them. ha i laughed. they came to pick up the david mann pieces at my shop and wanted me to go up there so they could film this big fight with us. nope. just stayed at the shop, kept working on other bikes and have never been happier. oh. then latecia comes to my shop crying a few weeks later, said they fired her and if there was any way she could come back, she said if not she was going to georgia.i said geogia's nice.... big thanks to everyone out there thats supported us

Justin got lost when the chick did the dremel tool flames on that frame. I dont know how that looked in person, but it looked bad on tv.
As far as nub goes now though, jr is not even designing paint schemes for his bike. He gives nub basic color combinations he wants and its all nub, that is why it works.

Since then, Justin filed a lawsuit against OCC and Discovery over copyright infringement. I don't know if he won or not.
He works for PJD... Blew my mind when found it, sounds like another one senior let slip away, by sticking with Jason....
That was an interview for a PJD fansite. Not PJD itself. According to the date of article, it seems that Robb was still working for OCC last summer. Yet, we still haven't seen him this season, and Ralph stated in the last episode that he was the only painter at OCC. So, Robb must have left sometime after July.
Justin got lost when the chick did the dremel tool flames on that frame.
JB wasn't at fault on that one, his mother was deathly sick at the time, that is one time Piligran Pro wanted to shoot this big dramatic fight about not getting the paintwork done, but JB didn't want any part of it..
See it is too bad the old boards are not here for this one. Justin actually posted a response to his firing there. But Mo-Kcar is right in that the production company wanted Justin to go to OCC and be "fired" by Senior. And of course it all was to be filmed.
I am not sure how good or bad Robb was. We really did not see him that much. And like some have stated, the design might have inhibited him. If the customer wanted a black bike with silver stripes, well then that was what Robb would have had to paint.
Definitely NUB has great vision. And some times he is what makes a PJD bike.

That's because the bikes that Nubs was along to listen to the customer desires it helped clear as you put it, Juniors vision that he can't put to paper. That's what Senior shoulld've done with Rob, to listen an what the customer wants not Jason Stoolie, he don't know art, he knows design, but design is not art.
