I dont' think Junior cares all that much for motorcycles. Or at least not to the level that one would think a person in his position would. Junior constantly talk about liking design. Design, design. Not motorcycles. Now of course I realize that Junior has worked on motorcycles for 10+ years, but I feel this is due to it being a cash cow for him and not a passion. Which is why when any other idea comes up, he goes for it. Playgrounds, dog toys, etc....
I think eventually he wants to move beyond motorcycles, because that is a string back to the Conquistadore. The old man always has that trump card of starting Junior on his career path. But if Junior went solely into design of various objects, that thread would be severed. A blow to Senior.
I actually feel like it is too bad really. many times, it is better to do one thing and do it very well. Not trying to do a million things before American Chopper ends.
You have to be kidding. Red meat and motorcycles do not go together. So bikers are vegetarians?????? Maybe those biker vegetarians are playing on the playground right now.
Possible clients might. Will future clients, that want a motorcycle, now be worried that Junior will want to design them whatever else takes his fancy?????Maybe a PJD fishing pole, or toaster.
Think of it this way, would a bigger crowd develop to see the PJD motorcycle, or the PJD toaster????
If you look at the clients at PJD and the very few OCC get every now and again they don't look like bikers they look more like vegos. Can you give us any examples of upset clients?

Agree, Guapo. Jr sure seemed to want to get out of doing the Cre8play bike by doing the playground. And ghost, some of us DO care and don't want to see him design a bunch of crap like the playground.
Maybe Rachael's objective is to keep him busy with other interests, so that she isn't his primary focus in life. It didn't sound like PJD Studios was going at the "speed of light" business wise (after seeing how he dealt with the stalling tactics initiated by Senior re: the commercial).
While I applaud his trying something new to do for his post show business survival, I think PJD Studios may be in for an uphill battle. I could be wrong, but I think most businesses that want to have a commercial produced for them would rather go with someone who has extensive experience doing this rather than with a business that's run by someone who is primarily known for designing motorcyles. I think they're going to have to WOW people right out of the gate in order to get this thing going. Time will tell.

I think he's just tired of doing motorcycles, and needs to try something else. Motorcycle burnout perhaps? IMO, this may explain why many of his latest bikes have so many of the same design elements, as was pointed out many times in the old forums. Maybe trying something different will give him a new perspective, and some fresh ideas and energy for doing bikes. Can't hurt.
I think that he's just spreading his eggs out. He knows that the show won't last forever and his current business model for the shop will have a hard time surviving post Discovery.
At the same time, he's moving a part of his business into another area that he has become familiar with (through the show) and can use that to build an ongoing venture that has a better chance of surviving after the notoriety of the show is over. While simultaneously using the show to promote it. It's his version of the boutique. (let El's lament begin)
I am not sure about PJD making commercial either. That is such a stretch from anything Junior has done. He apparently does not like computer that much anyway as he resists any type of computer drawings whatsoever.
I'm really beginning to question the entire Vinnie/Cody situation; they were none-too comfortable with Junior's choice to crawl into bed with the Devil, so-to-speak, and they've gotta be questioning both their worth/value to Junior, and probably in some way feel "used and abused".
I was never a great fan of Cody's, however, he seems to be maturing well. I'd personally like to see Vinnie/Cody go into either an automotive aftermarket fabrication business (they have gained machinist skills), or possibly a speed shop/racing modification business. Irregardless of which side you're on, there are very few among us who dislike either of them, and I'm now questioning the wisdom of the "Teutul Junior's"....
I just don't get why people need drama to make the show. I'm not talking about people here just in general. I love the show Tanked, no drama just fun and interesting TV and a real nice dad.
I've always liked Vin and Cody and I feel sorry for them having to put up with anything OCC.

I can understand Vinnie's position, regardless of how he left OCC, he made a choice to never go back and now Jr has obligated him to reverse that choice without talking to him about it beforehand. There are several former employers of mine that I will never go back to, for a number of reasons. If I were in Vin's position, I would find it very hard to follow Jr back to OCC. I would probably put it on the line and tell him that it is his choice to do what he wants, but I would refuse to go with him. If Jr chose to let me go because of it, so be it.

Probably another pair who are also bothered by this joint project are Brendan and Rick, although the cameras haven't recorded their concerns yet.
They have different fabrication styles. How are they both going to manage creating a fuel tank and sheet metal panels without constantly stepping on each others toes?

Vinnie is cool, but he is just a mechanic. He doesn't seem to be particularly brilliant at design or anything. Now, can he fix a bike. Sure he can. But how many other people can do that same thing. The only thing that is different is that people have an emotional attachment to the mechanic, due to watching him over the years.

I agree with this. I think this OCC bombshell was dropped on both Vinnie and Cody for dramatic effect in an effort to boost ratings. And if I were both of them I would likely feel betrayed, and played. Jr. should have discussed this with them beforehand, and to not do that shows a certain amount of disrespect. While I realize that it is Jr's shop, and that he is free to do what he wants, on this sensitive matter he should have hashed it out with them IMO. Doing this just for the sake of ratings makes me think a lot less of him, and that maybe the apple fell a little closer to the tree than I first realized. For selfish reasons I hope that Vinnie and Cody don't bolt, but if they do I can't really blame them.

So what? Same for the OCC crew.
See El Jr loves designing bikes.

Vinnie and Cody going back to OCC is nothing. I have to have Thanksgiving dinner with my brother. I'm expecting the first snotty remark right after pop says "amen," a shot at my sister's husband by dessert and full-contact wrasslin' to help clear the table.
If someone loves something, they will participate in that activity, regardless of anything else. If Junior was really into motorcycles, when he quit (voluntarily) OCC, and could not work for another company, he still would have tinkered with bikes in his basement on his own. This is what people do, when they really are into something.
The non-compete related to working for someone else. It did not state that Junior could not tinker with bikes in his basement.
